Illawarra Mercury
Wednesday January 12, 2000
A truck driver was rushed to hospital yesterday after a head-on collision with a front-end loader at BHP Steelworks.
The man driving the fully laden semitrailer was travelling towards the weigh bridge at the southern end of the plant when the crash occurred about 2pm.
He had to be cut free from his vehicle by police and ambulance rescue units. The man was rushed to hospital with leg injuries.
BHP spokesman Mike Archer said the truck driver was employed by South Coast Equipment.
WorkCover NSW would investigate the cause of the accident.
